RSSL, a cutting-edge food and pharmaceutical contract research organisation, today announced the opening of its new state-of-the-art analytical testing facility on the University of Reading Whiteknights campus, as part of an ambitious expansion plan. The new facility will increase capacity to aid RSSL in meeting the growing demand of its global client base across the life science, healthcare, food, and consumer goods sectors.
The expansion has been driven by RSSL’s recent significant organic growth and successful strategic partnerships, which have enabled it to double its revenue since 2016. With a base of over 3,000 clients in 60 countries across the European, US, LATAM, and APAC markets, the new facility will accelerate turnaround times and deliver efficiencies for RSSL’s clients around the world.
The new facility will add an extra 26,000 sq. ft. of working laboratory space with new technical capabilities to complement RSSL’s existing UKAS-accredited, MHRA- and FDA-approved facilities. To support this bold growth strategy, RSSL is also making a major investment into expanding its workforce from 350 to over 500 in the next three years, by doubling the number of scientists in its team. Together, these investments will enable RSSL to continue collaborating with its clients to provide indispensable research and meet the increasing need for specialist knowledge within its key sectors.
Jacinta George, Managing Director, RSSL said: “Our clients are at the forefront of innovation within their industries, working on projects ranging from sustainable food solutions to next-generation therapeutics. With this exciting new expansion, we will be able to continue supporting them to develop high-quality, safe products that meet complex regulatory requirements and consumer needs.
George added: “By expanding RSSL’s capacity and capabilities, the addition of this new facility reinforces our commitment to science, innovation and collaboration and will enable us to meet evolving industry needs and drive vital progress across a diverse range of sectors.”
For cutting-edge science to thrive, we need skilled people, world-class facilities, and a spirit of collaboration and discovery.
These shared values are helping both the University of Reading and RSSL to grow from our shared Whiteknights campus, and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership into the future.
