Water Systems and Microbiological Control

Ensuring Water Quality in Medicines Manufacturing and Understanding Purification Systems

Water is a major excipient and processing aid for medicines manufacture. Despite this, EU GMP has very limited coverage of water. This course is intended to introduce the different types of water, the systems for purifying drinking water and final water microbiological control.

All too often, inadequate knowledge of water systems, design and their control can lead to unnecessary down time and in-effective root cause investigations. Successful completion of this course will equip individuals with an understanding of how water systems are designed and controlled to ensure that water quality does not adversely impact final product quality and patient safety.
